There are two clinic rooms available on a booking system.

There is an assessment room that you can use for primary assessments.

There is a CTG to be used if a woman is concerned about reduced movements and then you can consult with Christchurch Womens’s obstetric team. The CTG is not to be used in labour.

You can also consult and if needed NICU will come to retrieve an unwell baby.

There will always be two experienced supportive core midwifes to assist at a birth or ask for a second opinion.

During the day there is also the charge midwife, receptionist and  hospital aide.

Ashburton encourages a collegial supportive environment.

  • Emergency Skills day

There is the facility to pick up a home birth pack of linen and then drop off to be laundered.

There are also breast pumps that can be hired by women.
