If you are a new graduate or new to the region and plan to work as an LMC midwife getting an access agreement to the CDHB facilities is usually top of your list.

To get an access agreement you will need:

1)Proof of your APC (Apply for your APC as soon as possible)

2) Proof of indemnity insurance (You may need to change your NZCOM membership from student to new graduate midwife which will then change your indemnity to the correct cover)

3) Two referees (You can request letters from your referees in advance and send them with your access agreement application to speed up this process)

4) Email the Director of Midwifery’s Personal Assistant (PA) to apply for your access agreement. The Director of Midwifery’s PA manages the process to gain your access agreement. She will email you the correct forms and will advise you once your access agreement has been granted.

This year the annual MQSP event was hosted in the Rolleston lecture theatre at Christchurch Women’s hospital with afternoon tea.

We encourage members to attend this event as it is a really valuable insight to our maternity system and ‘how we are doing’ in comparison to the national average.

They are some great speakers and it is a good opportunity to catch up with colleagues and network.

Please see below this years annual report.
