Home Birth Canterbury was formed 1976 and is a voluntary organisation that promotes and supports home birth as an alternative to hospital birth.
The Association provides support and encouragement to those contemplating home birth and also supports midwives offering home birth in Canterbury.
Canterbury Homebirth Association has two pools for hire:
$90 for Professional Members (includes liner)
$120 for non-members (includes liner and you will be subscribed automatically to our e-newsletter)
$35 for pool liner only (plus postage if required)
We can supply birth pool liners separately for $35. The liners are a rectangle shape which is 2340 mm (wide/opening) x 2200 mm (long/deep). They are made for the common hexagon shaped pools with the PVC pipe framework but they will fit any pool with an external circumference up to 4680 mm.

Homebirth hampers which contain beautiful gifts that fit with a natural birth philosophy.
The Ipu Whenua contains a biodegradable plastic bag so you can put in the placenta and it won’t leak. The family can then bury the placenta when they are ready and it will biodegrade naturally into the earth.
As a professional member you can add your details onto the midwife directory which will enable families looking for a homebirth midwife to contact you.
Homebirth Canterbury share positive birth stories that you can share with your women to inform and inspire confidence.
Homebirth Canterbury host monthly committee meetings to discuss upcoming events, social media growth, fundraising ideas and new initiatives to grow our community.
