The Education Committee runs 7-8 education session (90 mins each) per year on the third Thursday of each month for midwives and students in the Canterbury Westcoast region. We aim to select topics that are relevant to practice and provide up-to-date information for midwives.
These sessions are led by experts from the community and are informal allowing sharing of professional experience from participants. They are another great opportunity to socialise and network on a regular basis within the midwifery community. You also receive a certificate of attendance for your midwifery portfolio!
As a committee we love hearing ideas about possible topics that are of interest from members, and endeavour to incorporate these where possible. We aim to create a calendar of sessions at the beginning to the year but find these sessions often change slots due to commitments of the presenters.
Currently the committee has two members but we are always open to new energy!!
