Te Rau Kawakawa Health Centre

Te Rau Kawakawa is a new integrated health hub opening in Westport in 2023, replacing the well used Kawatiri birting unit.

Te Rau Kawakawa provides primary birthing services for women with healthy uncomplicated pregnancies. There is a fully equipped birthing room including a purpose-built birthing pool, with ample on-site parking available.

this new facility will support the avergae 12 births per year at Westport

Facilities:

Kawatiri Maternity Unit, situated at Buller Hospital provides antenatal, post natal and primary birthing care to Buller Women. LMC midwives provide continuity of care following women through to Grey Base Hospital for births, as required.

Average births = 25
Average transfers in for postnatal care= 10
